Hi People of 3T,

My name is Sean Wai. I am an architect by training. I was born in Malaysia, studied architecture in Sydney Australia, worked there a bit, then moved to Singapore for 2 years to work as an architect, then moved to Helsinki/ Finland for 2 years.

I then moved to NY USA for 2 years where I started to grow my businesses (that's short for not working and enjoying life just riding my bike).

I currently run my own architecture/ interior business called W Design Consultants here in Singapore. I also started a bicycle brand called SOUL bikes, http://www.bikesoul.com while in Helsinki and we are now one of the biggest online bicycle wheel brands in the world.

4 years on, and after many travels, I am back in Singapore and started a watch brand called moVas (movements of Asia) watches. The idea behind the brand was to create original designs and have them available to a wider audience. That meant lowering production prices (hence retail prices), by having parts manufactured in Asia. Asia instead of China because not all our parts are made in China. Dials are mostly made in Taiwan, leather straps in HK, cases and movements are made in China, rubber straps are made in Malaysia, sapphires are made in Thailand etc... The brand is young, the designs are by my own admission a work in progress, but the hope is that with time, support and improvements they would be accepted more widely and I would be able to continue to design more unique time pieces.

I have been trying to find a platform for me to express my views and to share ideas of my designs and hopefully not come across as shilling my own products. For sure I will try to refrain from actually trying to 'sell' my own products here and hope that I don't get the 'please advertise here or get the hell out' treatment I have received on some boards. Looking forward to contributing and learning.

Regards,
Sean Wai

Warm welcome to 3TThumbsUp02.gif.

I remember this thread. Back then I liked the watches and I still like them now. They are on the sweetspot, size-wise. Designs are really up-to-date.

I usually LALO in Singapore and would be swell to see your watches in the flesh.....or in the steel.

I wish you the best, Sean.ThumbsUp02.gif

Welcome, I tripped across your brand accidentally on the net. Really in love with the look and style. In fact added one of your models to my wish list.

Welcome to 3T Sean. Interesting concept and designs. But man your over the top shilling is unbearable.toon1.gif

Seriously, it's refreshing to see a forthright post from a nascent watch brand. Looking forward to seeing more of you at 3T.

Hi guys,

Thanks alot for the big hug welcome. I've been saying for ages that the watch industry is a lonely place. Well, I think that was before I found this forum. In the past I've tried talking to guys on WUS just about the state of the industry, trends, etc etc.... but it seems some sites are just interested in a one way communication scenario? That's the impression I got anyways.

I even posted a thread akin to "looking for watch friends"! and got ZERO replies. For sure most of the forums I have seen are driven by brand owners, shills, trolls etc, who only posts with a hidden agenda.

Sure, I would like to sell my watches just as much as the next guy, but I'm more interested in learning more about the watch industry which I do not have much experience in.

In regards to our new dive watch model, all DLC versions will now come with a bracelet, although we've been cautioning customers that a DLC bracelet is never going to be scratch free forever and they shouldn't assume it will. The rubber strap will be an option once it is released.

Thank you again for the warm welcome guys.
