I agree w/ all here Hucky, you did the right thing. Something else to keep in mind, there are dog owners, and idiots who happen to own dogs. Dog owners know that animals sort things out their own way, which can look like fighting. My wife doesn't understand that sometimes, and when our 100 lb lab sorts out a pecking order w/ a little push and growl, it's not a big deal. On the other hand, when the sorting out gets a little too aggressive, it takes a bit more action to get them seperated, which is what you did. Your pup looks good sized, so I'm assuming the other dog was a good sized dog as well, and you don't just "pull" them away. It takes some real strength, and getting in the middle to pull or push them apart is what is taken. This is what your particular idiot, someone who just owns a dog, doesn't get.

A dog park should be a great place for your pup, where he can feel comfortable and get used to socialization and the translating from instinct to socially acceptable behavior. Her dog crossed the line, she knows it, and took the typical route that someone embarassed took, she attacked you for it!

You did great, don't worry, bring your pup back and speak to the dog park personnel next time you see the one who witnessed your situation to make sure their interpretation was the same as yours. Obviously they felt the same way as you, or I'm sure they would've banned you.

Beautiful looking dog by the way!
