the sewn in buckle is as Ian says for security on the TedSu straps as these straps are made specifically for Panerai's...wider at the lugs for a tight fit and as far as the loop you are looking at on that one particular strap.....it has no function....just remember Ted's straps are made from vintage ammo pouches and that what you see was a loop on ther pouch and used as an aesthetic piece on the strapyahoo.gif
Ted makes by far the nicest Vintage strap...and it is handmade and takes time to break in,once it is it forms to your wrist and is very comfortable and just looks better with wear!...all leather no filler and built to last a lifetime imhoyahoo.gif
