Well, I live in an unincorporated, suburban section of Houston.  Because Houston's ban against fireworks doesn't apply here, people feel free to set off various forms of sky rockets...with no knowlege or consideration of where they will come down.  Many homes have cedar shake roofs and there are dry pine trees and pine needles in abundance, unlike common sense.

I just returned from a walk wih my rottie and saw the flames of some poor family's home.  The fire seemed to have fully consumed the house.  There were also numerous EMS units at the scene, hopefully just as a precautionary measure.    Too bad.
