I Think Eric Hit the Nail on The Head
The JLM's Available on Slop are made for Slop IMHO...Especially Since Seeing the js Sig Watch 
I Own a Couple of the basel Made JLM's..the Pre-Geneve that Eric Spoke of and they are very Well Made!The Few I Ordered of the Geneve Series Unfortunately Got Sent Back :( Once in a While if Found at Sale Time they Can Be a Great Bargain...TonyD Has a Awesome One 
I Will Try One Again if I Can Find One at a Great Deal on the bay 
I Really Like their Brown Dials!! In my experience the Pre Geneve Models are of better quality and were at a very good price. They have just gotten the contract to be able to put the Formua 1 Logo on there products. Which normaly means that you are going to pay a higer price for a lesser quality product. I never saw anyone get involved in F1 and make money but a few. Plus I have 3 Geneve JL and think that the older ones are of better quality. I think they changed from making quality watches at a reasonable price, to a marketing machine. For what its worth that is my take.
