 Ruger 10/22s are great little rifles, and there are so many aftermarket parts that you can change it to look like just about anything. The only requirment is that you have deep pockets. I had one years ago that I turned into a heavy competition gun for playing speed games. I traded it for an Anchutz 54 Target.

You can make a 10/22 into a maching gun looking thing

to a futuristic space gun looking thing

or anything in between
