Man, being without electric is a real bummer. There is so much going on in the world and without the juice, you have to call friends in other parts of the country to see how you're doing. Doing without water is an even bigger problem. We were not without water, but many are. Imagine being unable to wash your dishes or take a shower for a week...or three. Wearing clothes that are dirty or not fresh. Lack of fresh water is a real hardship and many folks are beginning to break down as a result of this stress. On the positive side, people are pitching in and taking care of business in Houston. Everyone is out cleaning up and helping their neighbor. (My neighbor just dropped off eight hotdogs for my wife and I that he cooked on the grill.) NOBODY is sitting around waiting for Uncle Sam to fix everything for them. Nor have I heard a single person complain about a lack of government response. It's nice to see people pull together. I heard 7,000 workers from other states have come to Texas to help get us back on our feet. That's great! Thanks again for everyone's thoughts and prayers. It's great to be back among the WIS.
