Maybe I didn't describe it very well. It does screw in all the way, it just isn't long enough to grab onto the threads further down in the hole. The screw hole is deeper than the screw. I'm just guessing at how many threads are stripped. I do know that if I put the screw in without the strap retaining ring, the screws are able to bite onto enough threads to tighten. That's why I though a screw slightly longer (to make up for the thickness of the retaining ring) would work. ~Chris
