It's the hole that's stripped. But I think it's just the first several threads. If I put the same screw in without the strap retaining ring, it tightens just fine. With the ring though, the screw isn't long enough to reach down to the good threads. I'm going to measure the thread size here at work and see if I can find a slightly longer screw. ~Chris
