Our very own murphy j has been sporting a new avatar. That avatar is the US Army's Combat Infantryman's Badge...more commonly known as the CIB. It is awarded only to Army Infantrymen and no other branch of the Army...more cherished than most medals, this Badge is a tribute to enduring courage and commitment. Whereas most medals are awarded for an act created in a "snapshot in time", the requirement for the CIB requires repeated and continued exposure to enemy fire for a sustained period of time. I'm not sure what the current requirement is, but it used to be a minimum of 90 days in combat under fire.
I, for one, am very proud of murph, his commitment, his proven valor and his service to our country! Jeff...thank you for what you do!
