So I'm in SoCal for the week, minding my own business Tuesday night catching up on some work in the hotel room and the Dell Support Center on my laptop pops up a message that there is a new BIOS upgrade available for my machine....this is a brand new model from Dell so it makes sense that they may tweak the BIOS and put out an upgrade... BIG MISTAKE!!!!!! I download it, and start the upgrade, the machine locks up totally, had to take out the battery to turn it off...no big deal right..this sometimes happens, fire it back up and off to the races.... WRONG!!!!! It will not turn back on, nothing, nadda......so I call Dell, always fun!!! After talking to three people I get to someone who speaks English and start to describe my problem....he stops me less than 10 words into my description of the problem and says "the machine won't power back up, right?", so I say "you're not even going to ask me if it's plugged in?" He says "nope, you are the seventh person I've talked to in the last 90 minutes with the same problem, we've determined there is something wrong with the BIOS upgrade" NO SH$% SHERLOCK. So the fix is ship it back to Dell and they will replace the mother board. Thanks god for my CrackBerry, I was at least able to do email until I got home tonight. BTW Oscar, I could log onto 3T with the Berry and see everything but could not post anything...not sure why!! OK, done venting, luckily I had a couple more laptops at home to get me by.
