Thinking about Tony's comments... Funny, but if spending this kind of change I would have made certain it was a keeper. However, it is just a question of how much disposable income you have at hand. My buddy from the hospital is a Cardio-Thoracic surgeon and his available disposable income is in a whole different range then mine. The past two weeks he has asked my opinion of a couple purchases flirting with watches in the 10K - 3K range. An easy range for him to handle. He's acquired a BP FF Trilogy and has a GP Seahawk II on the way. If he doesn't like him he'll flip them though he did his due diligence and is less capricious than many.
My point, this market segment is for him much akin to us buying sub-$500 watches and then flipping them. I have to admit to being envious but he worked hard and continues to work hard to make his dough. So I think it really is just a matter of perspective...
