Not only is the AQUALUNA a top quality piece of craftsmanship, but they have taken the unprecedented step of donating part of the proceeds of each sale of their newly launched divers watch to “Project Manta”. This Australian marine research project based out of the University of Queensland, is investigating the biology and ecology of the gentle giants of the ocean, manta rays.
Using cutting edge tagging and satellite technology, “Project Manta” is engaging scientists, industry partners and the general public in a comprehensive study of manta rays that will simultaneously enhance our knowledge of the species and provide a basis for long-term monitoring of the environment.
“Project Manta” together with Dievas is calling divers and watch lovers from around the world, to join in their efforts to understand these gentle giants and to directly contribute to an important marine conservation research project. The back of each watchcase has the image of a manta ray, to remind divers of the positive contributions they made to this research project.
