Just speculating, but I own a Louis Erard watch with a pointer date, Day of the Week indication, Month of the Year indication and moon phase. It's powered by an ETA 2824 movement with a Dubois Depraz module to handle the specialized date functions. The (four) pushers to adjust the various indicators are integrated into the case and are activated with a special tool provided for the purpose, or I guess you could use a ballpoint pen if necessary. Looking down at the watch as if you were checking the time, the pushers are not visible. Only when looking at the watch from the side do they become evident.

I would bet that your Gevril watch probably uses a similar arrangement.
