Indeed the Seiko Spring Drive is very different. While a good automatic watch may seem to make a clean sweep when the second hand moves around the dial, look at it with a good magnifying glass and you'll notice there are very minute and almost undiscernable stops. The Spring Drive is a true clean sweep and one won't even notice the minute movements of its second hand.:)
