In my day, the only knife a true combat soldier would use was a Randall Made Knife, hand forged by W.D. "Bo" Randell himself, in Orlando Florida. Back then it took almost a year to get a Randall Made Knife, unless you were on orders to Vietnam. Then Bo guaranteed delivery in less than 90 days. These are the 2 I have (and still have), both used for the purpose for which they were designed. My "Survival" knife is slightly different from that pictured. Instead of a screw-on brass cap, it has the original, water tight rubber cap. It will cut through a 55 gal drum!
