Is there any technical reason such as low reliability to avoid the 2836 modified GMT movement?  As I understand, a 2836 modified GMT would make the GMT hand function in a "jump hour" manner instead of the continuous movement like the 2893.  I actually think the "jump hour" GMT hand might work better functionally since the hand will be pointed right at the number for the hour until the hour changed, as opposed to being in between hours most of the time like the 2893.  I'm thinking perhaps the "jump hour" style GMT hand would be quicker to read at a glance?  I do love my Hamilton with 2893 so I don't have any problems with that movement.

Speaking of which, for the OP, there are many Hamilton GMT's available that might work for you.  Mine is the super oddball Khaki Action Sunset.
