As an arguable point, I have always been told that the term "regulate" as it applies to watches has to do with consistancy on a daily basis. The term "adjust" as it applies to watches has to do with the accuracy of the watch. Therefore, if a watch is not consistant on a daily basis, it must be "regulated" first; then it is "adjusted" for accuracy to get it within the smallest margin of error possible.
