Thanks everybody. I didn't decide to do this race until about two weeks before it, when a good friend of mine asked me to so that he'd have somebody to run with. He'd done this race a couple of times before, but had always been trying to go fast and get in somewhere around the hour mark or better and just never enjoyed the run. He said that he just wanted to go out and enjoy himself this time at an easy comfortable pace. Since I'd done a couple of longer than usual runs recently I felt confident that I could do this. It was a great time and fun for all. There were several local bands along the route and people were out spectating and cheering you on. At the finish line there was plenty of water, free snacks of all varietys, a band up on stage performing and free beer from a local micro-brewery. I really enjoyed myself and the atmosphere was wonderful. I'm seriously looking forward to doing this again next year .
