Maybe a tattoo that says "LIAR" across his forehead, or make him take out a 2 page ad in a national newspaper with the same word and nothing more than his picture???
I read once that in the American Civil War they would brand a "C" for "coward" on your face if you were a deserter and got caught. I know this is a little different from a liar who never served, but similar technique for punishment.
I was never in the military. All I can claim is 6 years in the BSA and getting my Eagle Scout. As a teenager I wanted so badly to be a disposable secret Commando or assassin, in my 20s I wanted to be a pilot... today I am neither but still love 80's action movies and keep a small arsenal of firearms and sharp objects.
It is never to late, a friend of mine from college just proved this by joining the army this year to "practice good medicine in bad places" ... he is 34.
