I just received my refinishing pen and just tried it on.  I'm amazed!!!  It works very well.  I used it to refinish the side of 48mm case that had small scratches.  It's now like new.  I find the pen easy to use and had no problem leaving a perfect finish on the whole side of the watch.  No more scratches :D I will post pictures later of before and after, you will see. The key is to be patient and not to push to hard on the pen I think.  IMO, the biggest advantage of this method, is that it's like a pen and it's easy to hold in your hand and allow you more control to do bezels and close to pushers or crowns.  Also, because it uses fiberglass, you have to be careful with the small particles left while brushing.  When the fibers brakes, they leaves little hairs that can go in your skin, I know, I got one on the side of my hand and it was not fun!  Anyway, I'm really happy to find something to fix all the little scratches that bugs me.  If you buy one, I would recommend to take a few refills as well.

Anyway, I'm very satisfied with it and I hilly recommend it.  Mine cost me $17 shipped with one refill.  I have used pads before but find it way more difficult to get in small areas or around bezels and pushers, that's where I think the pen is the best.  hand6.gifhand6.gif   Works for me!
