But It seems like the bashing mostly comes from watching the way they get pushed on TV, as much as I have previously bashed them. I dont think I have seen anyone knock them for how they run, how well they hold up, how solidly they are built. we talk smack mostly about how they price certain ones, claims they make and the like. and we bash them because people who DONT know watches, like them. And they just dont like them, they LOVE them. and think they are the cats meow. We who know watches tend to get annoyed because those people only watch TV and think that Victas are the best thing since the ball point pen cause they havent seen anything else. I had a " discussion' the other day that got me pretty heated because I met another "watch guy" who had over 45 watches in his collection. I thought respectable. then he proceeded to tell me that 38 were Invictas, and because of that , he "knew watches" But IMO, that is why we are not big fans of the brand, not for the watch, but who represents it from the manufacturer, to most of the wearers. but thats just me. I do know that I can spend a hundo and get a awesome looking watch shipped from china that will run well, but I wont even let a drop of sweat hit it, or I can spend 65, get a decent looking watch that will perform well, AND have the added benefit of ACTUALLY being able to dive with it with no worries. I have a few, (what I would consider)Mid to higher mid range dive watches that I will NOT take on a dive, for fear of banging or hurting them. (other than my marathons) , But personally dove to depths of 15 feet in the keys with my plain old basic victa. under $30 and performed admirably.
