The Swiss Military Hanowa Sealander arrived to day after a quick and painless Bay transaction. I made a low offer on an auction and was outbid buy some $50 when I received a 2nd chance offer from the vendor. At the price I bid this watch was a steal.

I have been wanting to try something with the CL888 movement and have seen an awful lot of Zodiac Oceanaires as of late which run the same movement. The Sealander Auto caught my eye due the it very orangeness to include nice orange detail into the bezel as well as a nice sherbet dial with a neat flange imho which adds depth to the dial. The depth is further accentuated by the domed mineral crystal all tied together with a tidy 44mm case. The watch is on a nice silicon fit strap. Lume is bright but short lived. Not as distinctive as the Oceanaire, but plenty orange, this Sealander makes for a nice beater and I'll be interested in the movement's actions.

The CL 888 is sort of a controversial movement in that it claims to be Swiss and you find it here in a watch marked a Swiss made. Some may recall a teardown in which the CL 888 was identical to a Seagull ST16 with perhaps a better finish and mainspring. The CL 888 was clean and properly lubricated while the Seagull was a bit messy. Regardless, they are in essence the same movement though you see this watch and movement are clearly marked Swiss Made. We'll see what type of performance the Sealander gets with its dubious Swiss movement. Thanks for having a look!
