Here's a comparison of similar flashlights.

I have the Nightstar CS.

I think the brightness is nowhere near conventional flashlights

but is ok for an emergency light. I actually used it for camping once

and besides having to shake it frequently, it wasn't bad for using in the dark.

One thing to keep in mind is that these flashlights use pretty strong

magnets so you need to make sure they aren't near things sensitive to magnets,

like electronic hardware and some watches!
