Thanks, Graham, for the effort and alchemy on this one.

I think the introdction of heat to open up the steel's pores and force the black/blue binding agents might work but I will be cautious. Worth a try and next time I drop by the gunsmith, I'll throw one of the buckles into the pot when he's not looking
