 Never had that problem myself when I was shooting because I was shooting with one hand and I'm right handed , wearing my watches on the left wrist...
Or maybe you allways shoot with both hands on the gun...
When I was active on shooting ranges, I've been shooting with black powder 44cal revolvers(all kinds), S&W 44mag,Desert eagle 44mag,Colt 357mag, 45 ACP colt...
But mostly with one hand: The right one, so I never had any watch trouble. Offcourse, I wasn't burning hundreds bullets by seance. It was just for the fun to try them sometimes.
Still, the recoil of the model 29 S&W 44mag is so intense that I would not wear a watch on the same wrist.
But I destroyed 2 Vostok watches by using heavy pneumatic hammers for concrete on long runs...
