When I left the Active Army in 1997, I left with a lot of personal shame. I had stepped on my crank pretty hard and had gotten a Field Grade Article 15(non-judicial punishment) and had the max punishments levied against me, including a reduction to the lowest enlisted grade. To make matters worse for me, I had just made the cutoff for promotion to Sergeant, but hadn't been promoted yet. Flash forward 8yrs and I decide to enlist in the National Guard and started completely over in the enlisted ranks at the lowest grade, but understanding that this came with the territory due to my past transgression. After enduring the the progession from Private to Corporal, to include the 'Corporals Curse', i.e. being a Corporal for several years and having all the responsibilties, but none of the pay for the position I was filling. I'm now proud to say that one week ago today I was promoted to rank of Sergeant in the United States Army 
This has been the first oppurtunity I've had to share the good news with my 3T friends and wanted let everybody know.
