It's finally here...well not in OT but in New Arrivals under the Post: Simon's 3 Vintage Watches. On page two there you will find the newly arrived Elgin DeLuxe 694 17 Jewel 4 Adjustment USA inscribed manual wind,in 10kt Gold Filled. The small sheet of glass was ordered a month ago, and I proceeded to get down to work after an 8 hour work day on Thursday night. Three of my fingers were cut when the sheet of glass shattered as I was making the template. Just a minor flesh wound. Having removed the bandages, on Friday morning. I used a small watchmakers hand file to smooth out the rough edges. I was off to work. Came back at 10pm and used a Dremel tool to polish the edges and test fitted the crystal next came time to add the epoxy. I wanted to preserve the authenticity of the watch by replacing the scratched acrylic crystal. Cheers, Simon Last edited on Sun Aug 22nd, 2010 11:42 pm by Simon_Leung |
