Thanks for the input.  We have set up camp in Flagstaff for 2 nights.  Doing some touristic things tomorrow, including a drive to Sedona.  From here we're cheating a bit in terms of 66: on to Vegas for 3 nights.  Will do the Hoover dam and canyon from there.
