Crowns and stems can come out. I have had it happen also after receiving a second hand watch. With the help of 3T, I got it back in myself. You can simply offer to refund the money upon receipt of the watch. $50 seems high to re-insert a stem/crown unless it is broken off somehow. Then every market is different. And, it is a Chinese made movement which might make some reluctant to mess with it. But, if you offer to refund the person's money after you get the watch back, that should help diffuse the person's fears. If he/she says no, I want $50! Then I would be suspicious.
