Thank you all for your responses!!! It truly helps me make an informed decision.

Oagaspar, I had a feeling that the timeframe was pretty good, but wasn't too sure about the estimate, since the repairman didn't even open up the watch. Something just didn't seem right to me. As for the possibility of "jamming" the movement... I don't believe so, the watch stopped operating while sitting in my watch box for a long stretch of time.

If I'm going to go through the trouble of having this baby cracked-open for repairs, I might as well get the lume up to par also, so that's gonna narrow the options.

Again, thanks to my 3T brothers... good or bad, I shall post my decision and experience when the job is done.
