Like I said before the blue/yellow/green colors are all acceptable, But I do believe the watch should have a saph. crystal for the money we are spending. Doesn't anybody concur with that?

Dan,

I agree that sapphire is very nice, but to me, not having it is not a deal breaker.  Mineral and synthetic sapphire have the same optical qualities and offsetting advantages/disadvantages.  Sapphire is less susceptible to scratching, but shatters more easily while Mineral is just the opposite.  My personal experience is that (in 50 some years of watch wearing), I have never scratched a mineral crystal, but I have shattered a sapphire.  I even have one 40 year old watch (bought new and worn daily in extreme conditions) that has its original acrylic crystal......and yes, it has been polished out several times.

I guess the bottom line is, would a sapphire crystal be worth the $110 upkick mention somewhere earlier in the thread.  Personally, I can't even begin to believe that's the real price when Bill Yao can have a custom made sapphire crystal manufactured for the Seiko Monster's and retail it for $60.
