He had a with him something we had been talking about for a while now. We had been talking about what appeals to different people in a watch design, and I told him that the nicest watch that I thought he had made was the "1 KM", to me it looks like a Tool diver should. I had said that it looked nice and clean on the Dial, which is great because it needs to be super easy to read, no extra crap like 24 Hr Hand etc because all that just clutters up the Dial. I have been using a Citizen Ecozilla for the past couple of years for work, and I liked the fact that it didn't need Battery changes, I had used for years a Seiko Arnie UDT that was given to me by a company for early completion of a job years ago, but like most Quartz watches every year or so it needs a battery change. a couple of years ago I had taken it in to one of the only places that said they could do it, and when I looked at it after the battery change the Hands were not moving. They had buggered up the IC inside, and of course they took NO responsibility for it. So I decided no more battery changes for me. I bought a Citizen Eco-Drive with an integrated Depth gauge, but even that was too cluttered for me, and the depth gauge was only good down to 40-50 meters, so that was only useful when I work as a guide. I traded a Suunto D6 Dive computer for a Titanium Aqualand Duplex, but the water sensor is located at the 3 O-clock position, so it was always reading "Check" because it would get sweat from your hand on it. Finally I had a chance to pick up a Ecozilla 300 Meter, and with Suppa Adaptors it was a great choice. However when I compare it to the 1 KM that Ralf has brought me... (yes that's what he showed up with, a new Benarus 1 KM) I think my Expensive Japanese watch has become one of my Collection of Dive instruments I don't use and just sit on the shelf ones. So I am now the proud owner of the very last (#30 of 30) Benarus 1 KM watches, it's PVD coated, so we will see how long the coating lasts because I'm pretty hard on equipment. Don't get me wrong, I take care of it, but I work with this stuff on a Daily basis. My Reg has lasted me 18-19 years so far and most people think it's about 1-2 years old, But when I'm working, this stuff gets beaten up pretty bad sometimes. I'll give you all regular pictures and keep everyone updated as to the durability and usability of this watch over the next while (if your interested that is) So that you can see just how they stand up when they are used for the purpose they were built. If this is of interest to you guys, let me know. Cheers for now, Duke My new 1 KM http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150274138460743&set=a.10150263689230743.376071.688750742&type=1&theater]Benarus 1 KM Attachment: IMG_9024_SM_2.jpg (Downloaded 347 times)
