 The last time I owned a Seiko was when I was in the Marine Corps in the 70's.  The Velatura diver came to me in a round about way.  I wanted a white dial diver so I ordered a Stargate.  The order got fouled up, so I ordered a Prometheus Jellyfish with a white dial instead.  Lets just be nice and say the Prometheus was not to my liking (POS).  So I traded it for the Velatura Diver...I am SO glad I did.



I suppose we all have that ONE thing that just draws us to a particular watch.  I tend to like unique designs, and cool looking hands......JACKPOT.  Seiko Lume is outstanding, which I expected.  Does not wear as big as the specs would have you believe.  The curved case just hugs the wrist, making it one of the most comfortable watches I own.  As I am not a big rubber strap guy I was not sure about a Seiko stock rubber strap, but it flexible, and surprisingly comfortable.



As it is a Seiko quartz model, not much sense in talking about accuracy or features.  The collars on the pushers are a bit different and taking some time to figure out.  I believe I overtightened one already.  The are small, shiney, and hard to get a grip on.  Quick trip to the watch fixer upper dude should get it handled.

The other thing is the color and color combination.  It is not an in your face orange dial, but a softer shade of orange which I really like.  With the black bezel, on a black strap, it just all comes together. The only other thing is the 26mm lug spacing.  Not a lot of choices for alternative straps.



All things considered I think I may become a Seiko fan.  Not only that but I may get another Velatura.  The look is so unique, and funky seems to be my style preference.
