 CJ, you know I am quick to drop the gloves when you are patronizing and dismissive, especially when pooping on my Mido.

Let's examine the specs:

Mido:

More on the movement:


Mido utilises ETA calibres (mainly 2824 and 2836) as do many Swiss manufacturers. However, Mido is one of the few mid range watches which use upgraded/adjusted versions, thus:


    • adjusted in three positions for higher precision than 'off the shelf' calibres




    • high quality Nivaflex NE mainsprings




    • Incabloc shock protection on balance




    • decorated winding rotor

Oris:

44.00mm (gents large) Band : Blue Rubber Strap Description : Oris Red-Rotor High-Mech, Mechanical automatic movement (base ETA 2824-2, 25 jewels, 38hrs power reserve), stainless steel casing, blue dial, display of hours, minutes and seconds from the centre, date at 6 o’clock, hour markings and polished hands with Superluminova inlay, screw down crown, flat sapphire crystal with inside anti-reflex coating, case back with mineral crystal, water resistant to 200m/666ft.

Details on the movement:

Cal. Oris 633, base ETA 2824-2, Ø 25.60 mm, 11 1/2''', bi-directional automatic winding, ball bearing, 25 jewels, Incabloc, 28¹800 A/h, 4 Hz, power-reserve 38 h, fine timing device and stop-second, centre hands for hours, minutes and seconds, date window instantaneous date, date corrector. Initial production 1982.

So, I don't know which is the better. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the Mido as lessor than the Oris without qualifying it as personal preference.

Ken I do think you will like the Mido with your fear of integration...of the bracelet that is...
