I hadn't read your post until today and man what a nice story!!! those watches that have that sentimental value are certainly worth more than any new watch you could buy new... I had a similar story with a watch that was given to me by my dad.. me and him didn't have the best relationship, but he gave me a watch when I was 17 years old.. although you guys will probably laugh, it was an Invicta.. it went through everything with me and sadly, it was stolen 8 years later.. My father past away 4 years ago.. I think I would change any one of my watches for that particular watch...

Thats an awesome endeavor your in, enjoy the ride of emotions as you remember your grand pa and at the end of the ride, you'll enjoy the watch that makes you remember him...
