I tell you what is up with LumTec: As most of company who present them self as designed/builded or assembled/cased in the USA, the prices hit the usual roof... 
It has always amazed me.
In fact, the average level of life is lower in the US than Switzerland but somehow the "prestige" seems to be higher for those watches designated for the American market and them customers ready to pay for the nationalistic feeling.
Just my personal view on this phenomenon...  

Well my friend if that is the case then I think that whoever has the $$ and can buy it shall enjoy it!!! In my case (as with a large part of WISdom) I would purchase a watch of higher quality with that amount of money...
