Man...I really like this one Phil!!!
my friend !
I love that simple watch.
And I like your Turtle very much.
I think I can't resist.
Thanks Phil, the Turtle is yet another sweet one from Helson for sure (in fact, I really need Peter to slow down as I can't take that much temptation one after another...should probably unplug the computer!)
It actually took me a bit to warm up to the Turtle at first due to the small dial diameter, but I'm liking the strong "vintage vibe" from it very much now (especially on the Isofrane). I think Trent said it best, it really does capture that vintage feel of the original Certina very, very well.
Right Chris !
Peter is really buisy at this time.
I am drooling over a few watches on the HELSON-website.
The Turtle is really a great vintage watch. Especially the case design.
The case width is 44,5mm. It's a great size.
But what is the bezel diameter ?
Agreed on all the great Helson's on the site right now!
I know the website says 44.5mm on case width, but I measure 43mm case width from 3 to 9 o'clock (not including crown).
Due to the tapered design of the Bezel from top to bottom:
I measure 37.5mm at the bottom of the rotating bezel
34.5mm at the top of the rotating bezel
27.5mm for the dial diameter
(disclaimer...I'm not using calipers, only a trusty ruler so your measurements may differ slightly from mine).
