 I would say that most likely, it's a question of time before the guy finds out if it's a real or fake one.
Maybe in a pawn shop, who knows...
He will be even more deceived if he believed it to be real during years and find out that it wasn't.
This is a dilemma I don't have...Why?
Because all my life I saw around me small lies getting bigger over the time and people getting hurt even more afterward.
You don't help anybody by hiding the truth from them in hope that it will never come up, you just loose them trust when they find out.
Ask him if he wants to know: Nothing else.
