The thing I've been asking myself over the past 5 days or so with the SD is, "how can a 40mm sized watch be THIS good?"...I was a bit concerned about the slightly smaller than sweetspot size (for me anyway), but there's just something really perfect about the way Rolex executes a timepiece (and after the first 5 days with this one, I think I've convinced myself that it is more than a placebo effect). But then again, I don't need to tell you Jeff!!!
My working watch has a SD PVD exact size copy but I never felt like the watch was bigger than 40mm...
Maybe you just experience a chemical reaction called love toward this new watch...
It's a known fact than when you are in love, they all look like they have perfect proportions anyway

The SD does have some nice thickness going for it compared to some other sub styled divers...I think it is the sum-of-parts here...everything is machined so sharp with very tight tolerances...precision/design of the triplock crown makes it the best operating, most robust crown design I've experienced...3135 calibre winds buttery smooth...being a diver, I appreciate the significance of the SD to dive watch history beginning with the original COMEX effort.

Well Chris, your Rolly is everything a watch should offer at this price point.
For sure it's sharp: The bezel teeth have a lot to do in this feeling and the overall finish looks great.
That's better than a classic Sub imo, specially since no cyclop comes in the way.
