Regarding the Bronze watch shown in the picture, I think someone would have to work very hard to make it look like the picture shows (I guess they are going for a corroded look, but IMO, that is not the type of Patina that typically develops on a bronze case over time). I agree with William's comment above...you can always remove the patina if you want to.

I happen to really like the patina as it develops over time. (the specific formulation of bronze used will also develop different looking patinas based on the composition of the alloy that is used).

Here are a few examples (the Benarus pieces are CuSn8 bronze and the Anonimo is UNI5275 bronze)...
