Thanks for the reference Greg! I haven't heard of Haldor until you mentioned them. I agree with you, their first offering "Abissi" looks like a great entry! I only spent a few minutes taking a look, but looks like an excellent offering for the price point for sure. An ETA 2824-2 movement being offered versus the Miyota 9015 at the price point seems great (I don't agree with their marketing strategy which appears to claim "Top Grade" on the 2824-2 movement, only to read the fine print to see that Haldor adjusts the standard 2824-2 movement to "top-grade accuracy"). They shouldn't be using the term "Top-Grade" in their marketing when the differences are more than accuracy (barrel spring, shock system, balance wheel, hairspring, regulator mechanism...you get the idea). They also stress "Swiss-made"...ok, I'll need to look into the brand a little more, but the first offering looks really well made from the pics I see (excellent case work showing precision and nice machining...ceramic bezel looks very well done IMO). I was surprised by the 57mm lug-to-lug length given the design. This one could wear really big IMO! It does look really nice though! Attachment: HALDOR Abissi 02.jpg (Downloaded 18 times)
