Frankly I got bored in affordables which was filled with mostly very nice people but was very monotonous.
The doxa forum has gotten a bit better but I do not visit regularly as it is too much a homogenous bunch of doxa lovers... not that there is anything wrong with that...
What really got me were some of the regulars in the divers forum that I felt were very snobby unless you were wearing a certain watch or actually diving. In fact, I have an aversion to Stowas because of this...
I like to ask silly questions to learn and to engender conversation be it watch related or not. That is why I post all over this forum about a variety of topics and share bits and snippets of my so-called "real" life. At WUS I felt no one was too interested in making any personal connections or revealing too much of themselves beyond a screen name, location and perhaps age... In short, it seemed the diver forum was not a place for me though I enjoy diver's watches. It seemed a bit to Euro eltite for a simple cheesehead like myself...
I think the guys on affordables are great but it really did become redundant. It was also strange at the range of watches which were considered affordable. Everything from Alphas to UNs...
I will say I like it here with this crew and would like to get face to face with some of the crazy mofos we have as members. I sometimes wish we had a bit more going on and that is why you will see me posting stuff all over the board. I aim to be a provocateur...just ask James Haury!! Sorry that's me...
