You can also try one of those boards for polishing fingernails. They are stiff foam about 6" long and about 1/8" thick, usually with 4 grades of abrasive on them. The coarsest is too coarse, like fine sandpaper and the finest will put the polished finish back on. But the other two are perfect for what you need, the foam molds to the curved contours and if you are careful and go in straight lines, you can restore the brushed finish to almost perfect factory condition.
