 Well I sure won't pretend to know.  I'm the 1st to tell ya, I make no pretense of being a WIS.  I'm just a plain old fashioned WI (Watch IDIOT !)

Intuitively though, the "wear & tear" argument is so compelling that it really took me by surprise to hear it recommended that a Chrono should be left "running".  Had to do w/ spring fatigue if left "cocked" & unused too long. 

Guy seemed to know what he was talking about.  Whole conversation left me feeling dumber about the subject than I started out!
