Hi Paxman Yes - this is a 1995/6 model, with all the good and bad that implies! Our 2008 model M5 still has this feautre too. Fuel metering gauge (called an econometer in BMW-speak) is at the bottom of the rev counter on this model. Its amazing how quickly the thing zips from the normal to the startospheric (8 litres/100ks when I am on the freewey, to beyond 30 litres/100kilometres when I push it)! Even more fun is to set the trip computer to "what's left in the tank" mode. It tells you how far you can go before it runs out of gas. That is more scary, because it calculates "on the fly". I have often started a trip with 200 kilometres to go, only to have the computer tell me 50 kilometres down the road that I have about 20 kilometres of travel left. Damned right foot... Have a great one! IanM
