Hi Jason - 18 hours is certainly out of the norm. You should get 40 to 45 on a full wind. A full wind is accomplished when there is alot of resistance, like if you went further something will snap.

Lets see how she goes for the next few days.

These are all existing pocket watch movements with slow beats and large balance wheels, thus the loud tick.

I suggest winding it daily for a few days, then see how long it lasts. It may need high spring torque to overcome some lube spreading - and if you let it wind down to 30 hours or so, it loses most torque though it may still keep time.

Let me know!

Thanks-
Marc

Hey guys, I just got this Poljot Aviatior from IW (thanks Marc!) with 3603 movement. It's my first mechanical. I've only had it for a day, my first full wind lasted about 18 hours. Is that about normal? or should I expect longer?
Also, the second hand ticking seems pretty loud.... louder than all my other watches, is that normal too?
