 I can tell you for sure that a Seiko titanium Samurai will not set off the metal detector :D
I discovered that coming back from Disney this past summer.  On the way down, the foil on my cigarette pack set it off, I ended up taking off watch, wedding ring, emptying pockets etc until I took my smokes out of my pocket.  Then the TSA put some scratches in the Sammy's bracelet free of charge.  I refused to take it off on the way back but I did put my smokes in the tray.  No alarm, go figure.
