 There are many watch makers even Swiss that will buy the cases and parts off the shelf. But there are some lower end folks out there too that design their own stuff too. And even in that some times the designs look allot alike till you put them side by side and do a close exam.

Just depends on what you want. Go for watch (A) with the big name and pay $5000.00 or go with watch (B) with a so so brand and pay $500.00 all a matter of taste and affordability to the buyer and or collector. ;)
