                       VALENTINE'S DAY

But you forgot about the real biggie . . . . . .

The Saint Valentine's Day Massacre occurred. Mobsters, dressed as policemen, gunned down seven members of a rival gang. (1929)

When Jack "Machine Gun" McGurn, a member of Al Capone's gang, was almost killed by members of rival George "Bugs" Moran's gang, he devised a plan to retaliate. Capone gangsters would lure "Bugs" and his gangsters into a warehouse on the pretext of buying bootleg whiskey and would shoot them, disguised as police officers. The plan wasn't fully successful, however, because "Bugs," who was late, saw the police car that Capone gangsters arrived in and was frightened off.
